This is to inform you that there are a number of cases of head lice in school. Please could you check your child’s hair and take any necessary action. There is no need to keep your child away from school as long as they have been treated.
As a school we would like to support the ‘O nce a week, take a peek initiative’. Although this particular campaign is endorsed by a brand of headlice remover, we are not interested in advertising the brand. Please find attached a copy of the leaflet advising parents/carers about headlice, how to check for them and the difference methods of treating them, if they are discovered. Thank you very much for your support and cooperation.
Thank you to all the offers of help for the harvest trail, the class teacher will be in touch to confirm timings. Please could all permission slips be returned on Monday as this is urgent.
Lunches - due to the later return of the bus at 12.30pm we request that all children either bring a packed lunch or order a packed lunch from school as we are unable to serve a hot meal as one off on that day.
Planets & Comets Classes - packed lunch is required on Tuesday 26th September.
Stars Classes - packed lunch is required on Thursday 28th September.
Our new Unity Education Trust Senco Lucy Robinson is getting to know the children here at Beeston and comes into school once a week on a Wednesday to support us. Lucy will be sending out letters to families of children on the SEN register next week to keep you updated.
Reception Parents Evening - Will be held on Wednesday 27th September 3.00-4.00pm.
Macmillan coffee morning Friday 29th September - 9-11am – The Coffee morning will be run by Year 6 supported by Miss Forster. Children are welcome to bring in money for buying cakes on the day.
Cake contributions would be much appreciated for this event next Friday, thank you for your support.
We have the NSPCC coming to visit us on Monday 2nd October, a separate letter will follow early next from the NSPCC to parents/carers regarding their visit.
Next Thursday 28th September we will be sending a team of four Year 6 children to represent Beeston at the Primary Maths Challenge. We will keep you posted about our progress, watch this space.
On Thursday 5th October Year 1 and Year 2 children from Stars Class will be participating in pedestrian training, so ensure they are road aware. We will require 3 parent helpers, please see Mrs Piffero if you are able to help (9am-11.45pm). Consent forms are being sent home, please return to the office as soon as possible.
Thank you for returning forms and ensuring that bikes and helmets are brought into school. The second session for those children taking part is on Wednesday 27th September.
We have a number of overdue invoices which require payment please, thank you.
After school club is running daily from 8am. Please inform the school office if you would like to book a place. Bookings on the day are taken, please take your child in and register them if you need this service on the day, thank you. After school club is running Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
This half term we are running 2 sports clubs, free of charge, numbers are restricted but we still have spaces for both sessions. Please see Mrs Bell in the school office if you would like to book in.
Monday - open to all KS2 Multiskills from 3.00-4.15pm with JD Coaching.
Tuesday - open to Year 1 and 2 only from 3-3.45 pm. Starting from Tuesday 26th September.

We will continue to give all parents/carers the opportunity to come into the classroom every Friday between 8.35-8.55am so that your child can share their learning, or show you items on display/objects in the classroom. In order for learning to start promptly at 9am we would appreciate it if you could stick to the timings, thank you for your understanding and support.
Thank you very much to all parents/carers who joined us at the Story Cafe on Wednesday. We had a great number of family members and the children and adults enjoyed making their weather mobiles. Sharing our learning assemblies are for one class only, each class will have an assembly for their parents/carers once a term. Future dates are:-

Stars Class - SOLA Friday November 24th 2.15pm
Planets Class - Thursday 19th October 1.30-2.30pm followed by Sharing our learning assembly at 2.30-3pm on the same day.
Comets Class - Thursday 2nd November 1.30-2.30pm followed by Sharing our learning assembly at 2.30-3pm on the same day.
Our next collection is 5th October, please start collecting. Bags are being sent home today. More bags are available from the office!
